This absolutely fabulous display of lights in the VanDusen Botanical Gardens, is a spectacle not to be missed when visiting Vancouver in December. Acres and acres of trees and foliage are covered in lights, mostly in themes. An area of lights along a man-made lake is synchronized with Christmas Carols, the lights changing colour to reflect the mood. Many creative ways to display were encountered, using plastic bottles and tinfoil to create flowers that glowed or hung from tree branches. A gingerbread house, complete with a gingerbread man enticed and intriged the children. It was a very cold night;we saw it all but felt rushed as we needed to keep moving to keep warm. Hot chocolate was a welcomed, soothing drink to satisfy our tummies and keep our hands warm. Fortunately, though, it was not raining, a rarity in Vancouver in the late Fall and early Winter! This was a wonderful Christmas display!
