The Western Sky

The western sky tonight was absolutely beautiful. The sun had long gone behind the mountain, but its heat reflected in the clouds over Pio Pico in the Jamul Mountains near Jamul, CA, which is east of San Diego and just north of the Mexican border. When we were setting up the satellite last night after our arrival, Bill spotted two very healthy coyotes taking their evening stroll through the campground, no doubt looking for an easy dinner...dogs! We will explore this area as well as further into San Diego. We plan to "kick back" a little as we have been working non-stop on updating and renovating the motorhome. Maybe a little golf or a visit to the world famous San Diego Zoo.

Christmas with Daniel

What a change we saw in "our little man"! He is sitting up straight and his little personality is full of fun and giggles, and at times, quite serious as if he were on a "mission". Dressed in his Christmas sleeper, he joyed in wrapping paper and everything went into the mouth! Grandad and I had so much fun playing "hide and seek" with him; he quickly learned to look for us behind the sofa or behind each other. What a happy little guy, although he does not like his bedtime. For the first time since 2007, all of the family sat down together to a delicious Christmas turkey dinner, cooked mostly by Nadine and Michael. It sure was wonderful! Thank you, Nadine and Michael, for your hospitality for our week's stay. Edmonton was cold, but not as cold as we anticipated! At least, this year!
